What Fugitive Songs Means To Me:

This production of Fugitive Songs was an educational theatre show at Towson University that was filmed in 2021. The amount of precautions we took varied from taking more breaks to “air out”, social distancing music rehearsals in a grid, wearing singer masks (I call them duck masks), temperature checks, COVID-19 testing, and more. The stage management really did a fantastic job with documenting and making sure we all feel safe. For many of us, this was our first time performing any kind of theatre content for about a year. Funny enough, this was also my first Towson Mainstage show. In Fugitive Songs, Alysha goes through a massive transformation in the sense of finding home and purpose. This resonated so much with me then, and now. While our production of Fugitive Songs is technically a film, this remains to be an incredibly special show in my theatre journey.
